Our Mission

The Behavioral Health Department is responsible for services which are accessible and acceptable to the county population; which are culturally and age appropriate to the type, amount and intensity needed to maximize recovery; which provide the least restrictive environment with due regard for individual constitutional rights and the public safety.

We also provide prompt evaluation and care of persons with acute disabling symptoms, especially those considered to be dangerous to self or others; provide continuity of care and treatment for person disabled as a result of a mental disorder who need assistance in using available mental health or other community resources; provide programs in the community which enhance the ability of the general population to cope with stressful life situations and prevent the onset of mental disorder.

Clinic Services

The main clinic provides: Adult and Children's Services Assessment, Psychological Testing, Individual Therapy, Group Therapy, 24-Hour Crisis Response, Case Management Services, Medication Support, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Rehabilitation Services, and Adult Socialization.

Bilingual staff and/or interpreters are available at no charge.

All programs provide a full array of culturally competent and linguistically proficient counseling services, medication support, family advocacy, case management, and rehabilitation. The diversity of our staff has helped us create a department that is sensitive to cultural differences and attempts to bridge language barriers with our consumers. Am I eligible for services at Lassen County Behavioral Health?
Lassen County Behavioral Health provides a full range of services for Medi-Cal recipients. Crisis and referral services are provided to all county residents in crisis 24/7 regardless of payment source.
If I go to Behavioral Health, what kind of help would I get?
This depends on what your needs are. Each person is unique and requires an individual approach. Behavioral Health staff will talk with you and help you determine what is needed.
Who will provide the services I receive?
We have a wide range of professional staff to assist you. A list of providers will be given to you upon your first appointment. This list includes staff, hospitals we use, and alternative options (if available) for cultural/linguistic services.
Where do I go if I am having a crisis?
You can visit Lassen County Behavioral Health at any time if you are having a crisis (Monday - Friday, excluding holidays, 8:00am - 5:00pm). If it is after hours, please go to the nearest hospital. Bilingual staff and/or interpreters are available at no charge.
